I share this story, because it’s incredibly sad and from my hometown, Tuscaloosa, Alabama:<\/p>\n

Man Shoots Wife in Bed While Preparing for Deer Season<\/a><\/p>\n

From the time I first picked up a BB gun, I have known that there are four rules for safely handling a firearm:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. All guns are always loaded!<\/li>\n
  2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy!<\/li>\n
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target!<\/li>\n
  4. Always be sure of your target!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Even if I was absolutely aware that a gun was unloaded (see rule#1), there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY IN HELL that I would point that firearm at my wife, son, father, mother, grandmother, aunt, uncle, cat, dog, fish, mailman, or anything else that I wasn’t intending to destroy.<\/p>\n
